The ultimate guide to SS15 style
As you begin to refresh your wardrobe in favour of the warmer summer weather that is blossoming into life, we bring you the top trends to watch out for this season…
The shirt dress
The shirt dress, which is essentially a shirt elongated to the point that it resembles a dress whilst still retaining features of a shirt, is a classic style which has made a bold comeback this season. Depending on the colour and print that you go for, the dress shirt is easy to slip on for a casual everyday look or can equally be dressed up for a more glamorous evening look.
Culottes and wide legs
This season has propelled culottes, which are wide legged, knee length trousers with the silhouette of a below-the-knee skirt, back into the limelight. And the big sister of culottes – wide legged trousers – can also create the effect of an ankle length skirt. Continuing the trend from last year, culottes and wide legged trousers are extremely versatile; pair with shirts and tunics for an everyday look, and try teaming with a blazer for contemporary workwear.
Colour me contrast
Black and white goes bolder this season, with the classic, contrasting colour combination taking on vivid patterns and silhouettes for a striking look. Try floating tunics and loose tops adorned with abstract black on white patterns for a casual yet striking appeal this spring and summer. If you find the contrast between black and white to be too harsh for you, blue teamed with white is another major season trend that may be better suited to you.
